Arterial leadercath S
Arterial Leadercath is a transparent arterial catheter with radiopaque lines introduced using the Seldinger technique.
Although it can be inserted in a variety of arteries, the most common site for the placement of this catheter is the radial artery.
The Seldinger technique makes arterial puncture easier particularly in hypotensive patients with a weak peripheral pulse and when arteries are atherosclerosed or narrow.
Arterial Leadercath is presented in a rigid blister pack containing:
- 1 safety needle Seldisafe 20G (holding the plastic white loop against the skin of the patient, the user pulls the hub of the needle. A safety device slides along the needle and neutralizes the needle bevel preventing all risk of needle-stick injury).
- 1 straight guidewire,
- 1 PU extension tube length 10 cm with an Autoflush,
- 1 transparent and radiopaque catheter in polyethylene with winged hub.
- for blood gas measurements (Pa O2, Pa CO2…)
- invasive arterial pressure monitoring.
Arterial Leadercath is a catheter for arterial puncture (radial, brachial, axillary…)

Arterial Leadercath is used
These catheters can also be inserted in the internal jugular or subclavian vein for the administration of I.V. solutions and drugs.
